GRIT is for 13-19s, if you're in school year 9-13 then GRIT is for you! We meet every Sunday between 7-8.30pm at the Church. GRIT have midweek small groups called Integrity. For more information about GRIT you can email us: grit@kingdomfaith.com
To have grit means you have guts, determination, tenacity and an indomitable spirit. (Indomitable means unconquerable, or cannot be subdued or overcome). We named our youth work GRIT so every time we talked about our young people we spoke over their life that because they are in Christ they are full of guts, determination and a true indomitable spirit. It may not be the most beautiful name in the world, but it sums up who our young people are and what they will be!
GRIT is lead by David and Shelley Hellyer who are assisted by a fantastic team: Amie, Fraser, Fred, Jenna, Naomi & Nathan.
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." - Ephesians 2:19-22
- No longer strangers – The verse speaks about us not being strangers or foreigners any longer. Instead each of us is a fellow citizen and member of the same household.
- Built on the foundation - We've got a rich heritage as members of Kingdom Faith and as members of the body of Christ. We need to ensure our feet are firmly stood on those foundations.
- Cornerstone - Christ is our Chief cornerstone on whom everything we do is being built.
- Dwelling place of God - God wants us together to be a dwelling place for Him and His Spirit. We are to be a people of Habitation not visitation.
Integrity
As a part of GRIT we run small-groups in the week which help to keep everyone connected to what's going on in the life of the church, these are called Integrity. Integrity provides an important safe setting for people to make friends, ask questions about things they don't understand and learn more about God.
The Gathering
It's fantastic that right across our 25 mile radius there are young people who want to meet together, share their faith and worship God - The Gathering is where this happens! Once a month we meet up with all the teenagers from Kingdom Faith Church across the 25 mile radius to have a collective celebration of Jesus and to get to know one another more. This is a fantastic time together, if you're 13-19 and in our local area you're very welcome to come and join us at The Gathering from 7:30pm at Kingdom Faith Church.
Upcoming Gathering dates:
- Sunday 27th May 2012
- Sunday 24th June 2012
