Small Groups

Small Groups are the relational heart of the Church - it’s where people connect, share life and grow together.

Small Group consist of approximately 10-20 people who meet together on a regular basis around a shared interest or passion and are designed to help everyone in the Church, across every congregation to discover what God has put inside each one of us so that we live fruitful, effective lives for Him.

If you’re new to Church or would like to get to know some more people, joining a Small Group is a great place to start. Check out which Small Groups are happening and when below and sign up today!

Small Group FAQs

What happens at a Small Group?
Every group is different. Whether hanging off a climbing wall, going for a coffee with friends or helping the homeless, each Small Group is a place to bring people together so that they can connect, relate and grow with others in the life of the Church. To help make it easier to find the right Small Group for you, we’ve put each group into one of the following categories:

  • Connect - Church, but on a small scale! These groups are for people who want to develop deeper relationships with others of a similar life stage or passion.
  • Community - Based around a particular outreach, event or activity, these Small Groups have a more missional focus and outlook.
  • Equip - If you want to go deeper with God and with others we have a number of groups that meet to pray, study the Word and grow together.

Where and what time do Small Groups meet?
Our Small Groups meet on different days throughout the week and at various times so there’s bound to be one that fits in with your schedule. Most meet in homes but some, that are based around particular interests or activities, meet elsewhere. Check with the Small Group leader for specific details of the group you’re interested in joining.

Are Small Groups just for people in the Church?
Anyone can join a Small Group, you don’t have to be a member of the Church and they are a great opportunity to bring along unsaved friends and family so that they can connect with others in the Church and find out who we are and what we believe. Each group aims to have a missional focus as we reach out to those in our towns and communities - so why not think about who you could bring along with you!

How do I sign up?
If you’re already part of a Small Group or would like to join a different one then we have a Sign Up Sunday at the start of each Small Group season where you can chat to the Small Group leaders and find a group that suits you. You can also sign up to a group at any point online.

I’d like to join more than one Small Group - is that possible?
Yes, feel free to sign up for any Small Group you’d like to regularly attend. We recommend that you only sign up for a maximum of 2 Small Groups.

What if I choose a group but don’t like it?
That’s fine - you don’t have to stay! The important thing is that you find a Small Group where you are able to connect, relate and grow in faith with the other people in the group. You are very welcome to try a few!

How long do the Small Groups run for?
We have 3 Small Group seasons each year which are usually 10-12 weeks long; one from the end of January to March; one from mid April - mid July and the other from the end of September to mid December. We hold Sign-Up Sundays at the beginning of each season for you to find out what’s happening and choose which group you’d like to be a part of.

If you have any other questions about Small Groups please speak to your Small Groups’ Director, Andrew Boyd or email: smallgroups@kingdomfaith.com.

Community Outreach

community

Put your faith into action and get involved with a brilliant team who are serving where the need is greatest. This is your opportunity to be part of a group that is working practically to help transform people's lives. Much of our work is on the streets with the homeless, so the group is currently suspended during Lockdown. But hopefully that is set to change!

Please let us know if you'd like to be a part and we will keep you up to date with the latest details.

Small Group Leader: Terry Howard

Meets monthly on various days at 7:30pm

Financial Freedom

equip

The Financial Freedom course aims to eradicate the world’s financial wisdom and replace it with biblical teaching. This 6 week course instils the importance of our tithe, how we can steward all that God gives us and teaches us how to demolish debt, budget and save for both the short and long term.

Rather than run the group as a regular fixture, we start when it's needed and can be flexible around which day of the week we run.  If you'd like to join the group or would like more information, please get in touch.

Small Group Leader: Jon Elliott

Meets on various days at 7:45pm

First Steps

equip

First Steps is an 8 week discipleship course for people taking their first steps into a relationship with Jesus.  We look at topics such as- how to pray and hear God, where do I start with the Bible? who is the Holy Spirit? why is church important? and what does it mean to be a "new creation"? -Whilst getting to know other people who are at a similar place in their faith journey.

First steps is for anyone who has questions about the fundamentals of christianity and who wants to get to know Jesus better, whether you've just finished an Alpha course, have recently become a Christian or are coming back to God after a long time.

There's a booklet that covers each topic that we read at home in the week, before meeting together weekly over Zoom in groups of 4-6 to reflect upon and put into practice some of what we learned.

Groups are run throughout the year, please get in touch to find out when the next group is starting and how you can sign up.

Hearing God

equip

If you want to learn how to hear God’s voice more clearly, then this group is for you!

This is a space to come together and get into the Word of God with help of the Holy Spirit; to learn to both hear His voice and then act on what He's saying.

Jesus said ‘My words are Spirit and life’ (John 6:63). So let’s learn how to live full of His life – and let that life overflow to others.

Hosted by Kai Vollprecht and Pastor Jonathon Dyke, Hearing God meets together online on Friday evenings at 8pm.

Overseas Missions Prayer

connect

This Small Group meets to pray for our overseas workers who are currently serving in a number of countries around the world. We pray to support them with their needs and to see the Gospel touch many lives and fulfil the Great Commission.  We are currently meeting every other week over Zoom from 1 - 2:30 on a Wednesday where we're joined by one or two of our overseas workers to share with us what God has been doing with the people they are reaching, as well as time to pray for them and others we are supporting.

As the guidelines change we will move back to meeting together for lunch at 12 before praying together from 1pm.
If you would like to join us or would like more information, please get in touch.

The Bereavement Journey

equip

Bereavement can impact hugely and affect all areas of life. Developed at Holy Trinity Brompton and appreciated by thousands of people over 20 years, The Bereavement Journey is for anyone who has been bereaved at any time and in any way. By means of a series of films and discussion groups the course gently guides bereaved people through the most common aspects of grief, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps.

The Bereavement Journey is a 6 week course that runs regularly throughout the year, either over Zoom or in person.  The groups are very relaxed and create a space for you to share, listen and process. The groups are facilitated by people who themselves have gone through bereavement.

If you would like more information or would like to sign up for the next course, please get in touch.

Way of the Spirit

equip

Whether we are new to faith or have walked with Jesus for decades, there is always more to learn about him. And so, we are blessed to have the Bible at our fingertips, the place where God has revealed the most about himself.

If you would love to delve deeper into the Bible and see the patterns and themes that emerge from God’s great story, then this Way of the Spirit group may be the perfect place to continue your journey of learning.

In a group setting, starting online, we will be going through the courses designed by the Way of the Spirit. Our starting place is The Drama of Salvation; a five-week whistle-stop tour of the Bible, discovering God’s marvellous plan for mankind.

Way of the Spirit is taking place on Zoom, hosted by Aidan Carroll. Start date: Tuesday 9th Feb, from 7:30pm to 9pm.
