Small Groups

Small Groups are the relational heart of the Church - it’s where people connect, share life and grow together.

Small Group consist of approximately 10-20 people who meet together on a regular basis around a shared interest or passion and are designed to help everyone in the Church, across every congregation to discover what God has put inside each one of us so that we live fruitful, effective lives for Him.

If you’re new to Church or would like to get to know some more people, joining a Small Group is a great place to start. Check out which Small Groups are happening and when below and sign up today!

Small Group FAQs

What happens at a Small Group?
Every group is different. Whether hanging off a climbing wall, going for a coffee with friends or helping the homeless, each Small Group is a place to bring people together so that they can connect, relate and grow with others in the life of the Church. To help make it easier to find the right Small Group for you, we’ve put each group into one of the following categories:

  • Connect - Church, but on a small scale! These groups are for people who want to develop deeper relationships with others of a similar life stage or passion.
  • Community - Based around a particular outreach, event or activity, these Small Groups have a more missional focus and outlook.
  • Equip - If you want to go deeper with God and with others we have a number of groups that meet to pray, study the Word and grow together.

Where and what time do Small Groups meet?
Our Small Groups meet on different days throughout the week and at various times so there’s bound to be one that fits in with your schedule. Most meet in homes but some, that are based around particular interests or activities, meet elsewhere. Check with the Small Group leader for specific details of the group you’re interested in joining.

Are Small Groups just for people in the Church?
Anyone can join a Small Group, you don’t have to be a member of the Church and they are a great opportunity to bring along unsaved friends and family so that they can connect with others in the Church and find out who we are and what we believe. Each group aims to have a missional focus as we reach out to those in our towns and communities - so why not think about who you could bring along with you!

How do I sign up?
If you’re already part of a Small Group or would like to join a different one then we have a Sign Up Sunday at the start of each Small Group season where you can chat to the Small Group leaders and find a group that suits you. You can also sign up to a group at any point online.

I’d like to join more than one Small Group - is that possible?
Yes, feel free to sign up for any Small Group you’d like to regularly attend. We recommend that you only sign up for a maximum of 2 Small Groups.

What if I choose a group but don’t like it?
That’s fine - you don’t have to stay! The important thing is that you find a Small Group where you are able to connect, relate and grow in faith with the other people in the group. You are very welcome to try a few!

How long do the Small Groups run for?
We have 3 Small Group seasons each year which are usually 10-12 weeks long; one from the end of January to March; one from mid April - mid July and the other from the end of September to mid December. We hold Sign-Up Sundays at the beginning of each season for you to find out what’s happening and choose which group you’d like to be a part of.

If you have any other questions about Small Groups please speak to your Small Groups’ Director, or email: smallgroups@kingdomfaith.com.

Arise, Shine

equip

God loves to break through in our lives. We believe that His heart is for us to be healthy, well and free. God's desire is not only for us to receive miracles for ourselves but to partner with Him for others.

Our purpose as a Small Group is to put God first, build ourselves up in faith and walk in the authority He has called us to. To take God at His word and see healing, provision and deliverence in and through our lives.  We are starting by looking at Kenneth Hagin's book 'Faith'. Initially we will take a chapter a week to study at home before coming together to share what God has said to us through it and pray.

Please get in touch if you'd like more information, or to join the group.

We meet over Zoom from 7-8:30pm and all are welcome.   If you sense this is for you, or you would like to try it out, please get in touch.

Belong - Women's Group

connect

Belonging is what God made us for. Belong is a Small Group of ladies who celebrate belonging to God. Many, though not all of us, live alone which can have its unique challenges where belonging is concerned. We meet on Wednesday mornings and at other times on occasion too. This is in each other's homes where that is possible and on zoom if necessary. Its a relaxed rather than formal time in terms of the how and what we do whilst always keeping the focus on Jesus by looking at His Word and through prayer and worship.

Over the years we've shared many experiences, we've grown deeper in relationship, rubbed a few corners off each other, had lots of fun along the way, done some crazy things, got involved together in a mission project, learned to be vulnerable and trust each other more, seen faith grow, answers to prayer and breakthroughs, and supported each other through some unexpected life events and most importantly, continuing to learn what it means to belong.

You are welcome to get in touch, come and meet us and see if you would like to journey with us

Financial Freedom

equip

The Financial Freedom course aims to eradicate the world’s financial wisdom and replace it with biblical teaching. This 6 week course instils the importance of our tithe, how we can steward all that God gives us and teaches us how to demolish debt, budget and save for both the short and long term.

Rather than run the group as a regular fixture, we start when it's needed and can be flexible around which day of the week we run.  If you'd like to join the group or would like more information, please get in touch.

First Steps

equip

First Steps is an 8 week discipleship course for people taking their first steps into a relationship with Jesus.  We look at topics such as- how to pray and hear God, where do I start with the Bible? who is the Holy Spirit? why is church important? and what does it mean to be a "new creation"? -Whilst getting to know other people who are at a similar place in their faith journey.

First steps is for anyone who has questions about the fundamentals of christianity and who wants to get to know Jesus better, whether you've just finished an Alpha course, have recently become a Christian or are coming back to God after a long time.

There's a booklet that covers each topic that we read at home in the week, before meeting together weekly over Zoom in groups of 4-6 to reflect upon and put into practice some of what we learned.

Groups are run throughout the year, please get in touch to find out when the next group is starting and how you can sign up.

Just For Starters

connect

Joining a church can sometimes be a bit daunting, "How can I get to know people?", "Which groups shall I join?",  "How can I get involved and where do I start?" Especially at the moment when there isn't a physical church to go to!

That's why we wanted to start this group.  We wanted to create a place for people who are new to the church to meet others, feel welcome, ask some questions and get plugged in.

Hebrews 12:1-3 says we're running a race - and it's a race we're in together.

At the moment we're meeting in person one week and then online for two weeks, but we also love to host meals from time to time, meet up, or go for walks, depending on restrictions and so on.

Just for Starters is a place for you to ask any questions you might have about the church (we'll do our best to answer them!) and to help you find out how you can get involved in the things you're passionate about and that God has laid on your heart.

We are here to start and build a relationship with you through Jesus who leads us and guides us according to His calling, and of course point you in the right direction.

Our meetings are on Friday evenings at 19:00, if you're new to the church, we'd love to say hi :)

Please get in touch if you'd like to know more.

Mpower - Men's Group

connect

This Group provides the opportunity for men to fellowship, encourage, inspire and challenge each other in order to mature spiritually and outwork the purpose of God in their lives.  Currently we meet via Zoom every Thursday evening at 8:00pm to share our lives, the scriptures we are studying, prayer and explore how, as individuals and as a group, we can be more effective in our Christian witness as an outworking of Hebrews 10:24-25: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
In addition to the weekly Zoom Meeting for the whole of the group, you will be part of a smaller group of men that you can keep in touch with in order to provide more effective pastoral cover and support during this time of restricted social contact and also to ensure that no-one is left on the outside as a result of an inability or reluctance to join in the weekly Zoom Meetings.

By getting plugged in it enables God to empower us as a body of men enabled to impact the life of the church, the community in which we live, the workplace, our families and beyond.

Please get in touch if you would like more information.

New Wine - Women's Group

equip

We are a group of ladies who are journeying together to seek a renewed love & intimacy with God, ready to receive all He has for us. New wine needs new wine skins (Matthew 9:17) and we have this as our goal - to be ready and prepared. Usually we'd be meeting up in each other’s homes with teaching, sharing, praying, communion and encouragement and also sharing lunch together once a month on Sundays, however at the moment while that's not possible we're meeting every other week on a Tuesday evening over Zoom.  If you'd like to join us or would just like to know more, please get in touch.

Overseas Missions Prayer

connect

This Small Group meets to pray for our overseas workers who are currently serving in a number of countries around the world. We pray to support them with their needs and to see the Gospel touch many lives and fulfil the Great Commission.  We are currently meeting every other week over Zoom from 1 - 2:30 on a Wednesday where we're joined by one or two of our overseas workers to share with us what God has been doing with the people they are reaching, as well as time to pray for them and others we are supporting.

As the guidelines change we will move back to meeting together for lunch at 12 before praying together from 1pm.
If you would like to join us or would like more information, please get in touch.

Pure Desire - Conquer Groups For Men

equip

If you're struggling with unwanted sexual behaviour, these Pure Desire groups are a safe place for you to find hope and healing. In this group we use the Conquer Series - an 11 week video based course that gives an introduction to understanding the strongholds that keep men in bondage, the neurochemistry of addiction and weapons and strategies of God to overcome unwanted sexual behaviour and live clean and free lives.

This is not a battle we should try to win alone. We need community. Come and join other men and stand shoulder to shoulder to see sexual addiction broken.

This group is also for men who do not struggle in this area but want to be better equipped to help others as well as being discipled and challenged in other areas of their lives.

Groups are completely confidential from sign up to completion. If you are interested, please call or email Colin Squires. He's the only one who will see your email and will discuss potential next steps with you, again with strictest confidence.

We climb on indoor purpose built walls, instruction is given and you don't need to have any experience, be particularly fit or even have a head for heights.  Just a sense of adventure and a friendly smile :)

Staying Fit & Connected

community

Formerly called Badminton and Swimming, We're a Small Group who (under normal circumstances) love to meet together for badminton, swimming and fellowship. However, during Lockdown we have not been able to meet for the badminton or swimming parts!  Instead, we are currently meeting for socially distanced walks with one other person on Sunday afternoons for some exercise as well as over Zoom as a group on Sunday evenings at 6pm every few weeks - we mostly spend the time catching up or praying together. We also keep in touch by WhatsApp, over the phone or with a socially distanced doorstep visit (where guidelines allow). Lately we have been joining with another Small Group on Friday evenings for communion over Zoom.

As the guidelines change, we will move back to meeting for badminton and swimming. We usually play badminton on Sunday afternoons at 3pm at Broadbridge Heath Sports Centre. This is usually followed by refreshments afterwards - Last summer we met in groups of six in a back garden and worshipped together.  We're also looking forward to being able to go swimming again (some of us hope to enter the next annual Swimathon!) - swimming is usually planned on an ad hoc basis.

If you would like to join us over Zoom, for a walk or would like more information about joining us when we can meet together when the Sports Centres open again, please get in touch.

The Bereavement Journey

equip

Bereavement can impact hugely and affect all areas of life. Developed at Holy Trinity Brompton and appreciated by thousands of people over 20 years, The Bereavement Journey is for anyone who has been bereaved at any time and in any way. By means of a series of films and discussion groups the course gently guides bereaved people through the most common aspects of grief, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps.

The Bereavement Journey is a 6 week course that runs regularly throughout the year, either over Zoom or in person.  The groups are very relaxed and create a space for you to share, listen and process. The groups are facilitated by people who themselves have gone through bereavement.

If you would like more information or would like to sign up for the next course, please get in touch.

The Way of the Spirit - Men's Group

equip

The Way of Spirit is a series of Bible reading and study courses that help us get to know God at a deeper level and learn how to hear His voice through His word. As a small group we meet together, usually in homes but at present on Zoom using The Way of the Spirit workbooks.  We individually spend time reading the Bible in the week and then meet to share what we have heard and seen, encouraging one another in life. As we receive what God is saying to us we are empowered to live our lives joyfully in faith and obedience.

This group is meets on Tuesday evenings and is for men. We are looking at the role of prophecy in revival. Currently we are tracing the history of revival amongst God’s people in the Old Testament. We are being challenged by the similarities between those days and our needs as a church and society today, and excited to see how God worked then and promises to work today. We are discovering that we are indeed heirs of the Old Testament prophets.
