It is often noted that the most important thing you will ever bring home comes without a manual. You get a manual for your cooker, alarm clock and lawnmower, but no manual for your children.

This page contains a playlist of parenting tips from a variety of people. None of us are perfect parents, none of the people in these videos would pretend to be, but sometimes hearing what other people do in their households can be really helpful. You don’t have to agree with everybody, sometimes disagreeing with somebody helps you clarify your own views.

Most of all we hope that taking some time to consider how you parent your children will help you in your day to day interactions with your children. As parents we are united by a desire to do the best we can for our children. None of us are perfect, but we can all make small adjustments to be better.

None of us is an island, we’re supposed to be a body, so let’s take advantage of the support that’s available. If you’re not so interested in videos or reading, and more interested in a shoulder to cry on or some help with your washing up, why not speak to your Small Group leader and allow the body to help you in your local congregation.
